Full house reset

There’s nothing better than coming home to a clean house after vacation… and there’s nothing worse than walking back into a mess. Before my fiancé and I headed out for our first week-long solo trip together, I decided to give our entire townhouse a true deep clean. I’m talking about the kind of cleaning I usually avoid until absolutely necessary — baseboards, mirrors, appliances, couches… the whole nine yards.

It definitely took time and a lot of elbow grease, but it was so worth it. Walking out the door knowing everything was spotless gave me such peace of mind, and I know Future Me will be so grateful when we walk back in.

In my vlog, I show the full process — from scrubbing toilets to polishing stainless steel, to vacuuming every inch of our couches (yes, even the dreaded couch vacuuming happened!). PLUS I scrubbed the toilets and deep cleaned the bathrooms. I wasn't joking around that I went all in.

Why I Always Deep Clean Before a Trip

Cleaning the whole house before leaving for a week might sound a little extreme, but honestly it makes the post-vacation blues so much easier. Instead of unpacking into chaos, I get to come home, light a candle, and ease back into normal life without an overwhelming mess waiting for me.
