I officially kicked off May with one of my favorite Philly traditions — the Broad Street Run! This year, I ran the 10-miler with my close friend and training partner, Amanda, and while the race didn’t go exactly how I hoped performance-wise, the energy, crowd support, and entire atmosphere of Broad Street more than made up for it.
If you’re in the Greater Philadelphia area (or even just visiting!), I highly recommend adding this iconic race to your spring bucket list. It’s the largest 10-mile race in the country, and the course is literally one straight shot down Broad Street — so you get a great view of Philly’s neighborhoods, fans cheering the entire way, and just that electric city energy.

This blog post is a little companion to my vlog where I documented my taper week, what I did (and ate!) leading up to race day, our visit to the expo center, and all the behind-the-scenes moments that made the weekend special. It’s a cozy peek into my running routine and a perfect example of how these race weekends are more than just miles — they’re memories. 💛

🏁 What I Loved This Year
Running with Amanda and making it a full weekend event
Seeing so many Philly locals and fellow runners out there
How motivating the crowd was (seriously, the signs and cheering sections are unmatched)
Having toilet paper at the end of the race when the port-a-potties ran out
Getting to document the full experience for YouTube and YOU!
