I cannot believe I ran my first 10 mile race! It was so much fun and I honestly want to do it again next year. I ran faster than I expected and achieved a PR in my 10K during the race!
I hope you enjoyed the vlog! I am so grateful to have been able to document the race so closely (thank you to my amazing fiancé) so I can relive this race forever. I am so grateful for Amanda and Michael being by my side and motivating me the whole race.
If you're interested in my race outfit, don't worry I collected the links for you!
Some other race day essentials that definitely helped:
Fruit Snacks
AirPods Pro
Beats by Dr Dre
Some tips we learned along the way:
1. If you're a girl, bring a roll of toilet paper because the port-a-potties will run out especially by the end of the race
2. Get there early because the lines will be long for the bathroom!
3. Account for time it'll take to get to the line to the bathroom and back to your starting corral
4. Wear clothes you're willing to donate to your starting corral then take off right before you're ushered to the starting line - hoodie, sweatpants, socks, shoes, etc.
5. Bring trash bags to use as "seats" on the ground so you stay dry or to stay warm (like in Silver Linings Playbook)
6. Pack a change of clothes for the drive home after! There will be quite a bit of traffic leaving the race so changing into dry comfy clothes will make it a lot more tolerable.
This race made me super excited for my first half marathon this fall! I'll be running that race in my brand new running shoes. I cannot wait to share that journey with y'all! Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube and follow me on Instagram so you don't miss an update :)
